Basic social work skills.
- Restrictions: Only open to B.S.W. U1 students.
- **Due to the intensive nature of this course, the standard add/drop and withdrawal deadlines do not apply. Add/drop is the first lecture day and withdrawal is the third lecture day.

BSW Second Year
Second Year Field Placements are generally carried out in a community-based setting where students participate in outreach, advocacy, referral services, program planning & implementation, case management, policy, and psychosocial assessments.

Supervised educational experiences in social work practice designed to integrate practice and theory.
- Restrictions: Only open to B.S.W. students.
- To register for this course, students must have completed 15 credits of U1 B.S.W. required courses plus 9 credits derived from any combination of B.S.W. SWRK complementary, non-SWRK complementary, and/or non-SWRK elective courses totalling 24 credits.

- Prerequisite: SWRK 322
- Restrictions: Limited to BSW students. Not open to students who have taken SWRK 356.
- Prerequisite: SWRK 322

Students must have completed a minimum number of听24 credits to begin the second year (U2) field placement. These 24 credits are comprised of all U1 required courses (SWRK 219, SWRK 220, SWRK 221, SWRK 222 and听SWRK 224) and any combination of SWRK complementary, non-SWRK complementary, and/or Electives courses totalling 24 credits. Second year students cannot do block placements.
BSW Third Year
Third Year Field Placements are generally carried out in public service institutions focusing on physical and mental health, child protections, and/or disability. Placements focus on direct service with clients, particulary psycho-social assessments, interventions, and evaluations. Activities may include counselling, group work, presenting at case conferences, working on interdisciplinary teams, implementing intervention plans.听

Supervised educational experience in social work practice at an advanced level.
- Limited to B.S.W. U3 and Special B.S.W. students
- Restrictions: Limited to BSW U3 and 2-year BSW students
- Prerequisite: SWRK 219; SWRK 220; SWRK 221; SWRK 222; SWRK 224; SWRK 319; SWRK 320; SWRK 321; SWRK 322; SWRK 323; SWRK 326; SWRK 327; SWRK 344).
- Restrictions: Only open to B.S.W. U3 students.
- Students must have completed 39 credits of U1 and U2 B.S.W. required courses plus 15 credits derived from any combination of B.S.W. SWRK complementary, non-SWRK complementary, and/or non-SWRK elective courses totalling 54 credits.
